About Me

My focus for myself and my clients is progress, not perfection. I believe everyone is an individual and not one specific approach will work for each and every person. My focus is on helping people move more efficiently and I believe mastering the basics allows you to learn and execute advanced exercises more safely and effectively. With a broad educational base, I am confident in designing a simple, but efficient program that achieves lasting results

I've been mostly sedentary for my whole adult life. I finally decided enough was enough and came in looking for a trainer. Chris took me on and in the first month I experienced noticeable body recomposition. I gained a bunch of muscle, lost some fat, and generally look and feel a lot better. I have been an active person all my life. A bad car accident in 2003 slowed me down for a bit, and since then I have been experiencing arthritis in one hip. My doctor tells me a hip replacement is most likely in my future. Then I joined Lifetime Fitness when it opened. For over a year I have been greatly enjoying the variety of classes, especially the yoga, Fitness Pilates, Barre and Strike ones. My increased activity appears to have slowed down deterioration in my hip. However, I decided to consult with a personal trainer to see how the classes I was taking effected my hip, and if there were different workouts from which I could benefit. This is when I met Chris. His reputation for working with people with limitations brought me to him. I have had only a few training sessions so far, but my experience has truly been like walking through a new door. He has assessed my issue, and guided me to doing exercises that already make me feel stronger, more flexible and more confident in how I move. I am so grateful to have found such a wise, thoughtful trainer who is great at communicating his knowledge. Chris truly has the gift of making a difference in my life, and I am sure for many others.

I came to Lifetime Fitness after an acquaintance the same age as me passed away this summer. She was a diabetic and over five years just got worse. She left an 11 year old daughter behind. Our children go to school together. I too am a diabetic and I did not want to die and leave my 11 year old daughter. I had lost weight but could not lose more to achieve better health. I was paired with Chris and he has changed my life forever! He has trained with me and sent me workouts that were tailored for me. He did a metabolic assessment to set my personal goals in motion. In a short time I have lost weight and found myself again. He gave me more confidence to believe in myself. I am so grateful to have found him. I just went to my endocronologist last week and I lost 2.5 numbers in my AIC glucose readings since the spring. My doctor was so pleased! I am going to back to college for a master program in Nutrition and Amber was a wonderful help as well. I know that Chris was meant to help me. He is an amazing trainer and and a wonderful support! After several rounds of gel injections and cortisone shots in my knees, my doctor suggested that I begin doing water aerobics to put off knee replacement surgery. I joined Lifetime after hearing about their wonderful pools. I met with Chris for my first physical assessment. I really had no idea what to expect, as I was really on interested in the water aerobics. During our meeting I explained what my physical limitations were. Chris informed me that there were plenty of things I could do in the gym, everything just needed to be done with proper form. I agreed to see him for the complimentary sessions that came with along with my membership. Chris was so knowledgeable about how the body works, with a focus on form, that he had me doing things that I never dreamed I could do, like planks, modified squats, and the TRX!! I continued to train with Chris for 9 months. Our training sessions were always geared towards my abilities and goals. It's easy to work with a trainer that you can trust, and one that really wants to see you succeed. Chris is not only incredibly smart, but also very encouraging and fun to train with. He believed in me, or else I never would have come as far as I have. I have been able to skip a few rounds of knee injections, lost some weight and feel stronger then ever. My doctor is amazed at my progress, and the fact that I haven't made it to a water aerobics class yet. I love the gym now, and I owe it all to Chris Donnelly!!!

He has incredible knowledge and knew exactly when to modify exercises and when to push me in certain areas to achieve our goals. Chris and I were paired up for my complimentary personal trainer session when I joined Life Time, and I had no intention of continuing sessions.
